Evening Sunshine

Two evenings this week there has been an unexpected break in the weather bringing sudden sunshine. The first evening we delayed five minutes and missed it; the second we were ready to burst out the door to make the most of it. We raced out on to the lawn to see if we could see the famous silver sparkle of the granite in the sun. We couldn’t - but at least captured our place in the sun.

….and as it seemed to last a bit we decided to walk along the river in the opposite direction to the Sunday walk. It was a bit more over grown and went for a long way.

Eventually we found ourselves meeting up with the very picturesque Inchgarth road.
Apart from the beauty of the place in the evening light, the most notable thing was that everywhere we came to had the name Garth in it – (and we remembered that the road we are staying on is called Garthdee). It must mean something which I have yet to look up.

Just when we were getting rather weary our spirits brightened - we came across a place called Norwood Hall . It's a really grand old baronial style mansion that had been turned into a guest house and restaurant / bar.
Although dressed in our daggy clothes we popped in to check it out and get our bearings. Delighted to find that we were only 10 mins walk from home we decided that we really owe it to ourselves to go back for there high tea before we leave.
